Naamaiya'ahkoyinnimannis a highly respected Kaahsinooniksi whose name translates to “Many Coup Pipe.”His English name is Lesley Wolf Child. He is the son of John and Irma WolfChild and the grandson of Albert Wolf Child, Cecile Panther Bone, Francis Big Tobacco, and Edna Fox, inheriting from them a strong foundation in Niitsitapi culture, teachings, and traditions. Les holds significant spiritual roles as an Elder for the Iitskinaiski and Ninnaimsskaiksi, and he is a singer for the Motokiis as well as both a singer and Elder within the Kanatsomitaiksi.Throughout his life, he has learned from many Elders who have shaped his deep understanding of Blackfoot ways and cultural responsibilities. Professionally,he serves as an Elder Consultant for Blood Tribe Consultation and Tribal Government, offering guidance rooted in traditional knowledge and Niitsitapi values. His areas of scholarly expertise include storytelling, Niitsitapi ecology—particularly sweetgrass picking—Niitsitapi philosophies, family and kinship systems, traditional songs, social and spiritual protocol, conflict resolution,traditional law, and traditional foods. Through his leadership, culturalknowledge, and dedication to community, Naamaiya'ahkoyinnimann continues to support the preservation and strengthening of Niitsitapi ways for futuregenerations.”
