Program Details
The Niitsitapi Early Learning Centre is an on-campus early learning program created to support students enrolled in programs at Red Crow Community College.
We provide a safe, nurturing, and culturally grounded environment for children ages 12 months to 5 years of age.
Our welcoming space features vibrant Blackfoot cultural artwork and murals that reflect family, identity, Blackfoot Language, and culture/traditions creating a strong sense for belonging for children and parents.

Our Program
• Kaahsinooniksi (Elders) transfer the knowledge through teachings song, play, dance, and storytelling
• Care and learning for children 12 months to 5 years
• Daily learning activities aligned with the Kindergarten curriculum
• Skill-building to prepare children for Kindergarten
• A welcoming and supportive space for student parents
• Children learn alongside their parents as families Parent/Teacher Progress Meetings
Monthly Fee: $150 per month
(For student parents enrolled at RCCC)
How to Enroll:
Complete the online registration form and submit:
• Child's Birth Certificate
• Healthcare Card
• Up-to-date Immunization Record
Is Your Child Ready for Daycare?
Every child develops at their own pace, but there are some signs that can help you decide if daycare might be the right step:
1. Independence in Daily Routines
• Can your child feed themselves or drink from a sippy cup independently? Do they try simple tasks like dressing themselves?
• Are their they environment? showing curiosity about exploring their environment?
2. Social Skills
• Does your child show interest in other children?
• Are they able to share or take turns with support?
3. Emotional Readiness
• Can your child separate from you for short periods without extreme distress?
• Do they express needs and feelings in ways adults can understand?
4. Communication Skills
• Can your child understand simple instructions?
• Are they starting to use words or gestures to communicate wants and needs?
5. Physical Readiness
• Can your child walk, move around safely, and explore?
• Are they developing basic self-care skills like washing hands or using the bathroom (with support if needed)?
