Grants Officer and Partnership Developer
Oki! Our Mokaksin Centre for Blackfoot Research and Resilience is offering a unique opportunity for a Grants Officer and Partnership Developer to join our team.
Position: Full-Time | One-Year Contract | 40 hours per week | Competitive salary

Assignment: A flexible workload is available—an on-campus presence and in-community networking to effectively engage with stakeholders and participate in community activities.
Mission: To meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs and services to nurture self-realization based on Kainayssinni.
Reporting to the Vice President of Research and the Strategic Research Consultant, the Grants Officer/Partnership Developer at Red Crow Community College supports the Mokaksin Centre for Blackfoot Research and Resilience. This role is pivotal in planning, developing, and executing fundraising strategies and identifying grants and sponsorships that provide necessary resources to support the Research Centre’s initiatives in promoting Blackfoot culture and resilience.
Qualifications:
✔ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Non-profit Management, Business, or Communication, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
✔ Minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, with a demonstrated track record in grant writing and major gift solicitation.
✔ Exceptional writing skills with the ability to craft clear and persuasive proposals.
✔ Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, capable of engaging with various stakeholders.
✔ Proficient in project management, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
✔ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with donor management software; familiarity with Raiser's Edge is an asset.
✔ Deep understanding of Indigenous cultures and values, particularly Blackfoot culture, with respect and sensitivity to the needs and rights of the Indigenous community.
✔ Knowledge of Indigenous knowledge creation, research methodologies, and research ethics.
✔ Experience working in an environment that requires adherence to high ethical standards in research and fundraising.
✔ Should be familiar with tri-agency (SSHRC, NSERC, CIHR) funding processes, the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, Alberta innovation grants, and other significant operating funds and project support sources.
✔ Demonstrated ability to navigate complex funding landscapes and leverage resources to maximize funding opportunities for research and development.
