Red Crow Community College is a First Nations college with locations in Standoff and Lethbridge. Our mission is to meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs and service to nurture self-realization based on Kainayssinni.

We are currently seeking a Research Assistant/ Associate to support the Agriculture Research Lead. The Assistant will support daily operations for agronomy research field projects. The Associate will perform a variety of functions by following research protocols. This includes assisting with seed/seedbed preparation, seeding and treatment application. The Assistant will plot and conduct site maintenance, apply fertilizer, soil, tissue sampling and harvesting. In addition, assist with data collection, data entry, record keeping and collaborate with industry and government programs to complete the projects

Research Assistants deliver services with respect and understanding of Blackfoot culture and participate in activities that promote Kainayssinni.

Research Assistants require Post Secondary Education in a related field (biology, environmental sciences or agriculture). Preference will be given to Agriculture students or graduates. Applicants must hold a valid class 5 driver’s license, and assist in transporting and operating agriculture equipment in and around the Lethbridge area. They are analytical, detail-orientated, have effective communication skills and can work both independently and in a team environment. Physical demands include operating farm machinery and equipment and working in an variety of environmental conditions.
