Red Crow Community College is a First Nations college with locations in Standoff and Lethbridge. Our mission is to meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs and service to nurture self-realization based on Kainaissinni.


We are currently seeking an Environmental Science Instructor to instruct at our Standoff Campus. Responsibilities include classroom, lab, field trips instruction and curriculum development. The incumbent should have instructional and/or industrial expertise in the following areas: soil science, site remediation, site assessment and utilize the Canadian System of Soil Classification. In addition, have knowledge in botany, plant community assessment, range management/forestry, stewardship, wild life techniques and protocols. Familiarity with the soil resources and reclamation/remediation practices in Western Canada is essential. The ideal candidate should have an industry connection to ensure current program practices are maintained. industry connection to ensure current program practices are maintained.


Instructors require a minimum of master’s degree in environmental science, ecology or a closely related discipline. Candidates close to completion of a MSc. or PhD will be considered. In addition, eligible registration with a professional organization such as the AIA is an asset. The instructor is expected to be personable, well-informed on the topic area, and effective at communicating in both speaking and writing. The instructor must work both independently and in collaboration with others. Courses will be delivered over the Fall semester (September-December).
