Red Crow Community College is a First Nations college with
locations in Standoff and Lethbridge. Our mission is to meet the
cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and
beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs
and service to nurture self-realization based on Kainaissinni.
Lead hands deliver services with respect and understanding of
Blackfoot culture and participate in activities that promote
Kainaissinni.
We are currently seeking Garden Labourers for the
Standoff community garden to support the Lead Hand
and Agriculture Coordinator to maintain horticultural crops,
which include seeding, watering, weeding. Perform yard
landscaping by trimming the lawn, shrubs, and trees. The
incumbent is required to operate small engine
equipment and be able to manage hazardous materials
such as fuel, fertilizers, and pesticides.
The Community Garden Labourer should have some
Agricultural knowledge or horticultural gardening techniques
and must have reliable transportation. WHIMIS or First Aid
training and basic proficiency in Blackfoot language is an
asset. Physical demands include operating farm
machinery such as tractors and implements, motorized
garden tools, working in an outside environment, and being
capable of lifting to 50 lbs.
This term position starts on May 1 until the end of August, and
some weekends when necessary.
